Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance and Repair Engineer to join our team at Loews Hotels. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and train junior engineers in the absence of or in conjunction with managers
  • Ensure all work is performed in a professional and timely manner
  • Provide technical information and field support to hotel staff, including costing for parts and projects related to trade
  • Perform work that requires special skills of an electrician, carpenter, plumber, painter, mechanic, and refrigeration mechanic
  • Be available to perform emergency duties at any hour
  • Adhere to hotel and department policies
  • Use tools safely and correctly
  • Check the daily assignment sheet for job assignments
  • Communicate the status of job assignments and maintenance requests to the supervisor in English
  • Assist and provide guidance for co-workers, and perform the functions of an Eng. Eng. II and I
  • Requisition and follow up on needed materials
  • Respond to emergencies
  • Respond to trouble calls when directed to do so by the supervisor
  • Review and complete the daily trouble call log when assigned to respond to trouble calls
  • Assist guests with requests in English, and follow up to ensure completion and guest satisfaction
  • Perform general maintenance duties, including minor electrical, kitchen, laundry, carpentry repairs, pool cleaning, and painting
  • Respond to maintenance requests for Meeting Rooms, Guest Rooms, Food & Beverage Outlets, Public Spaces, and Back of the House
Requirements
  • High school diploma and courses in engineering/maintenance required
  • At least two years of maintenance experience
  • A strong mechanical background with hands-on journey-level experience in at least two trades (i.e., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or refrigeration) required
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Flexibility to work any shift, including weekends and holidays
  • Customer-service oriented and excellent hospitality skills
  • Fluency in English (read, write, and speak)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Additional certifications or training in maintenance and repair
