Job Overview:


SmartFinancial is in search of a talented and driven Cloud Infrastructure Specialist with a strong focus on AWS, ECS, and Ruby on Rails to become a vital part of our innovative team.

The successful candidate will possess a robust background in cloud architecture, container management, and web application development. You will be tasked with designing, implementing, and sustaining the infrastructure that supports our applications.


Key Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, and oversee scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure on AWS.

Utilize Amazon ECS for effective container orchestration and management.

Collaborate with development teams to enhance and support Ruby on Rails applications.

Automate infrastructure deployment and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.

Monitor and optimize infrastructure performance, ensuring cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.

Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to facilitate streamlined development and deployment processes.

Adhere to security best practices, including access controls, data encryption, and vulnerability management.

Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, providing support to development and operations teams.

Stay informed about the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously enhance infrastructure practices.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

3+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or a comparable role.

Extensive experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, and CloudWatch.

Proficiency with Amazon ECS and containerization technologies such as Docker.

Solid understanding of Ruby on Rails and its deployment in a production environment.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.

Knowledge of networking principles and security best practices.

Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).

Experience with other container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.

Familiarity with additional programming languages and frameworks.

Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar.

Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
