Position Overview:

The primary focus of this role is to drive sales for new system designs, installations, and commissioning, as well as system modifications and upgrades. This position requires the development of new business relationships, management of existing accounts, and achievement of sales targets through effective estimating and bidding on fire protection projects. A consultative sales approach is essential, involving the analysis of client needs, communication of suitable solutions, and successful closure of sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate contact with potential buyers for new systems and upgrades through scheduled sales calls and follow-ups on leads.
  • Analyze construction contract documents and collaborate with general contractors or owners to gather necessary information for pricing development.
  • Assess customer requirements through site surveys and effectively communicate WSFP's capabilities.
  • Design system layouts and perform hydraulic calculations to determine appropriate pipe sizing.
  • Evaluate construction feasibility, explore system options, prepare cost estimates, and present compelling proposals that address customer life safety needs.
  • Maintain an active proposal backlog to support the sales strategy.
  • Foster and sustain relationships with new and existing customers to ensure WSFP exceeds their expectations as a long-term partner.
  • Collaborate with other WSFP teams on initiatives relevant to your territory.
  • Achieve the objectives outlined in the annual commission plan.

Qualifications:

  • Three to five years of experience in the fire protection sector is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Prior experience in the construction industry is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with CAD software for fire protection system layout and hydraulic calculations is preferred.
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple complex tasks and resolve issues.
  • Exemplary customer service skills with a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Highly motivated and proactive in approach.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish relationships with General Contractors both locally and remotely.
  • Strong skills in prospecting.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Willingness to undergo a post-offer drug test, background check, and reference verification.
