Job Overview

This role is responsible for creating opportunities to enhance lives one relationship at a time. The Foster Care Recruitment and Retention Specialist will put a focus on safety, permanency, respect, compassion, integrity, excellence, and stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Recruit and retain foster parents through various activities and partnerships with local media stations.
  2. Provide training, guidance, and support to foster parents to ensure their success and retention.
  3. Maintain correspondence and follow up on all inquiries from prospective foster parents.
  4. Facilitate required training for foster parents, including the clearance and fingerprinting process.
  5. Conduct home consultations and prepare written homestudies for prospective foster parents.
Requirements:
  • Two years of experience working with youth at risk.
  • Familiarity with Family Court, Department of Social Services, and Probation Department.
  • Bachelor's degree in a Human Service field or related field (preferred).
Work Environment:

The position requires occasional travel to recruitment events, schools, conferences, and meetings within the community. The work environment is an office setting with controlled temperature conditions, and occasional exposure to inclement weather may occur.

Equipment:

Maintain knowledge of office equipment, including personal computers, printers, audio-visual equipment, telephone systems, copiers, and fax machines.

Physical Demands:

Sit, stand, walk, lift, carry, push/pull, climb, bend, and stoop. Fine motor skills, reading, and typing are also required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $43,875. A valid New York State driver's license is required, as well as mandated reporter certification and corporate compliance training. Additional eligibility qualifications include completion of routine pre-employment requirements, criminal background checks, and reference checks.
