Position Overview:
IMG is seeking a highly skilled Tier III Boundary Protection Engineer to enhance our clients' extensive wide area networks (WANs) and local area networks (LANs). This role is crucial in providing robust boundary protection for an enterprise-level infrastructure across various classifications and serving as a subject matter expert in boundary technologies from multiple vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the security and networking of enterprise boundary enclaves and devices.
- Install software, apply patches, manage file systems, and monitor the performance of firewall systems.
- Support firewall equipment and applications including Palo Alto, Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA), and Forcepoint.
- Develop, assess the impact of, and implement custom proxy policies and/or policy exceptions in alignment with ongoing technology initiatives.
- Act as a Proxy Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the integration of additional technologies within the program.
- Assist in troubleshooting web connectivity issues to identify root causes.
- Conduct upgrades, testing, and configuration of Proxy solution components.
- Research and create evidence collection, protection, and analysis techniques for customer-owned hardware and software.
- Provide real-time monitoring and alerting for security incident investigations on perimeter/internal infrastructure.
- Deliver daily Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support for all incident management events and outages.
- Collaborate with IT personnel on various projects and initiatives.
- Contribute to monthly progress and status reporting of Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Coordinate with relevant technical support teams to resolve network traffic issues.
- Utilize monitoring tools and log collectors for in-depth analysis of traffic anomalies and issues.
Qualifications:
Required Clearance: Active TS/SCI with CI Poly.
Essential Skills, Experience, and Education: Candidates must possess a total of 16 years of experience, which can be a combination of work history and education. This can include a doctorate with 8 years of experience, a master's with 10 years, a bachelor's with 12 years, an associate's with 14 years, or a high school diploma with 16 years. Required qualifications include:
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant boundary protection experience in delivering fault-tolerant data network infrastructure solutions and incident response.
- Compliance with DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
- Experience in configuring and troubleshooting boundary protection technologies such as Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, and Forcepoint appliances.
- Familiarity with proxy technologies such as Bluecoat proxies or equivalent applications.
- Working knowledge of routing and networking fundamentals.
- Understanding of boundary protection best practices.
- Knowledge of routing, switching, Internet Protocol (IP) subnetting, Network Address Translation (NAT), and security technologies.
- Ability to engineer and modify rulesets to accommodate new customer requirements.
- Capability to read, understand, and develop schematic diagrams, technical manuals, and documentation for minimal training on supported equipment and software.
- Familiarity with Service Now or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Willingness to work rotating schedules and provide after-hours on-call support.
