Dallas Government Accountability Editor Lead

This is a senior editorial role that involves coaching a team of at least seven reporters in producing meaningful stories and watching over local governments. The ideal candidate will have excellent editing, time management, planning, and prioritization skills to manage daily assignments and long-term enterprise projects.
About the Role
The Deputy Government Accountability Editor will work closely with the government accountability editor to develop and implement strategies for investigative reporting and watchdog journalism. This includes identifying story ideas, assigning tasks to team members, and providing guidance on research and writing techniques.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of at least seven reporters to produce high-quality content on local government accountability.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience in a newsroom, including some experience managing a team of reporters.

- Concrete understanding of SEO best practices and how to optimize a story's digital presentation.

Salary Information
The estimated salary for this role is between $80,000 and $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
