About the Role

Rise Baking Company is seeking a highly skilled Sanitation Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of sanitation and food safety in our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sanitation Team Leadership: Manage and lead the Sanitation team across all shifts, including training, development, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Sanitation Scheduling and Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain master sanitation schedules, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Equipment Sanitation and Maintenance: Ensure proper equipment sanitation and efficient startups through an understanding of the manufacturing process and equipment/parts design.
  • Plant Sanitation and Maintenance: Ensure all areas of the plant are properly sanitized and in good repair.
  • Quality Assurance and Validation: Work with Quality Assurance and Production to validate/verify allergen cleaning effectiveness.
  • Inventory Management: Order and maintain inventory for Sanitation department materials, managing inventory to keep within budget.
  • Chemical Control and Safety: Manage chemical control within the Sanitation department, working with chemical providers to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Training and Development: Ensure proper training is completed and documented for the Sanitation team, continually training, monitoring, and enforcing compliance to safety programs.
  • Sanitation Program Development and Maintenance: Create, update, and audit sanitation programs and SSOPs to ensure compliance with FDA and GFSI requirements.
  • Food Safety and Plant Audits: Actively participate in food safety and plant audits, company audits, and 2nd and 3rd party audits.
  • Pest Control and Continuous Improvement: Provide pest control support, working with pest control providers to ensure corrective actions are closed out in a timely manner, and establish a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science degree preferred and/or 2 years of experience in implementing sanitation programs, with 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Certifications and Skills: GFSI, FDA, and State Department of Agriculture experience preferred, HACCP and PCQI certification preferred, experience developing and managing to a budget preferred, experience with Microsoft Office, strong leadership, team-building, and coaching skills, strong decision-making skills, ability to establish rapport quickly, and continuous improvement mind-set.
