Telecom Aerial Laborer

We are seeking a skilled Laborer to join our Aerial Crew team at Tex-Star Service. As a Laborer, Aerial Crew, you will play a critical role in connecting America by performing duties related to installing and repairing aerial telecommunications cable.
Key Responsibilities- Perform all phases of aerial construction, including loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of construction materials and equipment.
- Hand dig using shovels and mechanical tools.
- Install and maintain underground telecommunications cabling.
- Climb into and out of equipment, such as trucks, cars, backhoes, and trenchers.
- Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery.
- Work in congested or remote areas, maintaining visual and audible contact with other crew members and moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement.
- Perform general construction work under the direction of a Foreman/Supervisor.
- Flagging, property, or worksite restoration.
- Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must be authorized to work in the United States for this company.
- You must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- You must have a valid standard Driver's License with a minimum of 2 years driving experience or a Class A Commercial Driver's License.
- You must have 0-1 or more years of unskilled labor experience, with telecommunications experience being a plus.
- You must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance.
- You may be a certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber.
- You may have knowledge of Installation of aerial and underground cables and/or support members in conformance with all applicable codes, regulations, and customer specifications (NEC Electrical Code, System and/or City Specifications).
- Class A Commercial Driver's License.
- 6 months of experience in the utility construction industry.
- Ability to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify the type and size of underground utilities.
- You must be able to perform the above duties for at least 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. You may be required to work overtime, after hours, on weekends, for emergencies, or on-call.
- Duties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low.
- Ability to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, and a hard hat.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold temperatures, inclement weather, and adverse driving conditions.
- Employees in this job classification may be exposed to dust, fumes, or other airborne pathogens.
- You must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 LBS as needed with or without assistance.
