We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Assistant to join our team at Houston Methodist Continuing Care Hospital in Katy. As a Patient Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and services under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Provide personalized care and service to patients, promoting a positive and respectful environment.
- Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding, as needed.
- Conduct hourly rounding to ensure patient needs are met and record data as established by policy and procedure.
- Report observations and patient problems to the licensed nurse, ensuring timely and effective communication.
- Participate in teamwork by responding positively to requests for assistance and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to achieve desired patient outcomes.
- High School diploma or equivalent education.
- Must complete one of the following: PCA externship, PCA internal internship, six months of direct patient care experience, or enrolled in a school of nursing program with a completed first clinical rotation.
- BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA) certification.
- CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant - State Licensure (for Skilled Nursing Facility/SNF/Rehab departments only).
