JOB DESCRIPTIONAs a faculty member in the Psychology department, you will be responsible for teaching various psychology courses, advising students, and engaging them in research activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Full-time faculty members are expected to teach courses, which will be evaluated annually, mentor students in research, and contribute to academic committees as needed for professional service.
In the College of Science and Engineering, full-time undergraduate faculty members typically teach 24-25 load hours per academic year, primarily within the Behavioral Sciences department. This usually involves instructing eight undergraduate psychology courses each academic year (excluding summer sessions) in areas such as research methodology, developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, and potentially elective courses in sports psychology.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Chair of Behavioral Sciences.
REQUIREMENTSEducation:
A Master's degree in Psychology is required, with a Ph.D. preferred. Candidates with expertise in Cognitive or Sports Psychology will be prioritized. Experience/Skills/Abilities:
A minimum of one year of full-time teaching experience at the university or college level is necessary (two years if part-time adjunct). A demonstrated ability to produce publications and engage students in research is preferred. Candidates with a background in sports or performance psychology will be given preference. Successful candidates will exhibit professional interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
