Job Summary:
The Salvation Army is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Group Leader to join our Youth and Family Education team. As a Group Leader, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our Summer Youth Enrichment Program, providing a safe and supportive environment for our participants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the daily operations of the Summer Youth Enrichment Program, ensuring the smooth delivery of activities and events.
- Manage the behavior of participants in your group, promoting positive behavior and adherence to program rules.
- Facilitate the delivery of 7 Habits and LitCamp curriculum, teaching or assisting in teaching a Choice Class.
- Work collaboratively with supervisory staff to ensure the overall success of the program.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma with 2-3 years of work-related experience in Elementary Education and/or child care.
- Self-motivated, with strong initiative and time management skills.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- Cultural flexibility, competency in working with multi-cultural participants, and experience working with inner-city and un-churched youth.
- Valid driver's license and ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
Clearances and Certifications:
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance
- PA State Police Criminal Record Check
- FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check
- Valid National Sex Offender Registry Clearance
- TB Test
- Health Physical to meet DHS compliance for licensed School Age Centers
- 10 hours Health and Safety Training
- Mandated Reporter training
