Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback sessions aimed at enhancing individual teacher professional development and facilitating the implementation of Massachusetts Frameworks and relevant standards through coaching cycles, co-teaching, modeling, and reflective practices.
- Assist teachers in planning and co-planning to effectively implement Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) strategies.
- Manage budgeting and procurement of materials, while gathering and disseminating professional and technical resources. Analyze assessment data to formulate intervention strategies for students.
- Organize, lead, and/or engage in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), faculty meetings, professional development sessions, Chelsea Professional Learning Academies, and orientation for new educators as necessary.
- Actively participate as a member of the Instructional Leadership Team (ILT), Instructional Support Team (IST), or District Curriculum Implementation Team (DCIT) to enhance school leadership capabilities.
- Collaborate with District Coordinators, Directors, fellow coaches, and school Principals.
- Engagement in responsibilities extends beyond the standard school day/year, including participation in the Chelsea Professional Learning Academy on a monthly basis.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned by the Principal or their designee.
- A minimum of three years of experience as a DESE licensed educator in a relevant subject area, demonstrating outstanding teaching and instructional leadership abilities.
- A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education teacher licensure in the appropriate grade and subject area.
- Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement for core content educators.
- Ability to engage effectively with a diverse population.
- Familiarity with Massachusetts Curriculum frameworks, instructional practices, and assessment methodologies.
- Understanding of differentiated instruction and response to intervention is advantageous.
- Citizenship, residency, or valid work visa is required.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
- Dual certification in English as a Second Language (ESL) and/or Moderate Disabilities.
All educators are members of the Chelsea Teachers Union (CTU). The standard school day comprises 6.5 hours, with potential for extended hours in schools with longer schedules. The academic year consists of 185 school days. For details regarding salary, please refer to the CPS website.
