Continental Resources is seeking a seasoned Geologist Advisor to join our Exploration team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for generating new exploration prospects and expanding existing plays in unconventional and conventional reservoirs.
Key Responsibilities- Prospect Generation: Utilize your expertise in geologic, petrophysical, and geophysical parameters to generate high-quality exploration prospects.
- Geologic Modeling: Integrate and interpret multiple data sets to create concise geologic models that characterize petroleum systems and hi-graded play fairways.
- Technical Analysis: Participate in strategic peer review sessions to present and refine interpretations and technical analysis to deliver technically vetted exploration prospects.
- Collaboration: Work closely with a multi-discipline team of geoscientists, engineers, land, and commercial teams to conduct assessments of strategic opportunities and emerging plays.
- Software Utilization: Effectively utilize advanced geotechnical software tools in the interpretation process.
- Communication: Convey technical findings through oral presentations and written reports to both upper management and peer review presentations.
- Mentorship: Mentor less experienced geoscientists across all facets of technical skills.
- Teamwork: Work in a collaborative multi-disciplined environment incorporating a wide variety of data from various sources to develop a team-driven interpretation.
- Capital Program Execution: Effectively communicate strategy, recommendations, and execution plans for capital programs regarding project funding, data capture, and testing plans.
- Exploration Well Planning: Be a key contributor and leader in the planning, execution, and evaluation of exploration wells, data gathering programs, and integration of industry best practices and latest technology.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Geoscience or Earth Sciences from an accredited university or college.
- Experience: Minimum of twelve (12) years of recent experience with an exploration and production company.
- Qualifications: An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.
- Advanced Degree: Master's Degree in Geoscience or Earth Sciences from an accredited university or college.
- Physical Demands: Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, and stooping. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
