Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled VTC Technician to provide audiovisual support and operate and maintain state-of-the-art video-teleconferencing capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in installing, configuring, and operating unclassified and classified VTC systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Tier I & II customer support for VTC systems
  • Schedule conferences using Cisco's Telepresence Management Suite (TMS)
  • Respond to system outages and take appropriate action to alt-route and/or use available failover/back-up capabilities
  • Conduct site surveys to determine specific requirements for new VTC system installations and/or upgrades
  • Conduct on-site VTC installations, including assisting with end network device configurations, equipment installations, and equipment configuration and check-out
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in hands-on/practical experience in the installation, configuration, and operation of unclassified and classified VTC systems
  • Working/practical knowledge and understanding of IP networks and how they are implemented as part of/support of VTC systems
  • Active/valid DoD TS/SCI-eligible clearance (i.e. DCID 6/4 eligibility); applicant must maintain clearance in active/valid status
  • Required Certification: Active/valid DoD 8570.01-M IAT-II (Security +) certification; applicant must maintain currency of same
Preferred Qualifications
  • In-depth understanding of networking theory and ability to apply the same
  • Experience with configuring and managing Cisco switches
  • Experience with General Dynamics Type 1 encryption devices (e.g. TACLANE)
  • Familiarity with audio/video standards (e.g. H.323/SIP protocols)
  • Working knowledge of Cisco Telepresence Management Suite
Work Environment

The work site is located at Eglin AFB, FL. Office setting that includes sedentary physical effort. However, may include lifting of weight up to thirty (30) pounds. No unusual hazards nor unusual environmental conditions on job site.

Attendance & Other Essentials
  • This position supports an operational work center providing 18 hours/day coverage during the standard Monday-Friday work week. Shift work may be required on a rotational or permanent basis as determined by mission needs.
  • Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important, but not critical, except for deadlines and meetings.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements.
