We are seeking a highly skilled **Sr. Controls Engineer** to join our team at BGIS. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and operation of electrical and electronic equipment and systems related to the Building Automation System (BAS).
Key Responsibilities- Install and configure low-voltage controls systems, including conduit, wiring, end device installation, terminations, control panel fabrication, and wire/controls tagging.
- Verify the installation, commissioning, and operation of electrical and electronic equipment and systems related to the BAS.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with HVAC system and control components, including VAV controls, BAS controls and peripherals, HVAC system type, T-stats and zone sensors, overflow sensors, refrigeration controls/devices, solenoid valves, controllers, defrost, ECM's, evaporator, and condenser.
- Install and troubleshoot control devices, including KE2, Varis, and Jene control cabinets, temperature probes, outside air sensors, T-stats, zone sensors, BACnet loops, Ethernet cabling, T-stat wiring, VAV controls, cradle points, wireless access points, lighting controls, current transformers, and metering devices.
- Inspect, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage power equipment and systems, network communications, end devices, peripherals, valves, and actuators as part of the commissioning process.
- Calibrate electrical or electronic equipment and instruments according to technical manuals and written instructions.
- Commission BAS systems, end-to-end verification, and report any anomalies.
- Utilize internal tools and standards.
- Provide daily updates to the project manager.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the project manager.
- Deploy programming and graphics as required.
- Ability to work 7 days a week.
- Ability to travel for 4-6 weeks at a time.
- Proficiency in recognizing proper and improper installation of BAS, refrigeration, and HVAC control devices and peripherals.
- Proficiency in utilizing smartphones, tablets, and laptops, including Microsoft suite, Excel, Outlook, Teams, electrical forms, Encore, Fastfields.
- Ability to communicate professionally to customers, internal and external, including project managers, lead technicians, and end users.
- Level is inclusive of responsibilities of JT.
