Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing assistance to teachers and schools in providing instruction, behavioral support, and healthcare needs to students during the school day. The position is 6.25 hours per day and 183 days per year, with a contracted schedule evaluated periodically based on need.

Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers and schools with providing instruction, behavioral support, and healthcare needs to students during the school day.
  • Provide support in accordance with state laws and district regulations.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Provide health care services to students, including administering medications and providing first aid.
Requirements
  • Must have 48 semester hours, an Associate's degree, or a high school diploma or equivalent and have passed the paraeducator exam.
  • Must have a valid Kentucky paraeducator certification.
  • Must have a valid CPR certification.
  • Must have a valid first aid certification.
