This position provides a safe environment for swimmers of all ages and abilities at the YMCA of the Suncoast. As an Aquatic Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining high safety standards during recreational, fitness, and instructional swims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides direct supervision and maintains high safety standards during recreational, fitness, and instructional swims.
- Role models all aspects of the SMART pledge and creates a nurturing and safe environment.
- Reports suspicious activity that may lead to child abuse or may violate the code of conduct.
- Maintains cleanliness of deck and locker rooms, keeps the deck clear of equipment, and follows opening and closing procedures.
- Engages in positive public relations with members and serves as a role model in pool safety.
Requirements:
- Lifeguard certification preferred.
- Ability to work varied shifts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
