Job Summary:

Cedar Park Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Interventional Radiology / Special Procedures department. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for coordinating all Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures during your assigned shift and ensuring that our hospital's values are reflected in all aspects of the department's operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate assigned patients and plan, implement, and document nursing care.
  • Perform various patient tests and administer medications as ordered by physicians, keeping within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.
  • Assist physicians during examination and procedures related to adult and pediatric radiology, ultrasound, CT, MRI, Interventional Radiology (IR), and other special procedures cases.
  • Prepare required documentation and maintain appropriate internal records on patient care.
  • Promote patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
  • May direct, monitor, and/or evaluate care delegated to non-licensed personnel.
  • Assume, under the direction of the Laboratory, responsibility for patient specimen testing, quality control, quality improvement, and equipment maintenance.
  • Perform a range of technical services in a cross-functional mode to comprehensively serve patient needs.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure safe and accurate delivery of patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Texas, or license with a compact state required upon hire.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) approved Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of adult and pediatric Interventional Radiology (IR) experience required.
