Aquatic Safety Specialist
The YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking dedicated Aquatic Safety Specialists to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment at our aquatic facilities.
We offer competitive compensation based on experience, with an additional +10% differential for bilingual staff proficient in both Spanish and English.

Responsibilities:
As an Aquatic Safety Specialist, you will play a crucial role in promoting the safety and well-being of our members and guests. Your primary focus will be to maintain a friendly and welcoming atmosphere at our pools, allowing everyone to enjoy and gain confidence in the water.
Your duties will encompass:
- Monitoring the safety of participants in and around the pool or hot tub.
- Ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of the aquatic facilities.
- Conducting chemical testing and maintaining proper water quality.
- Addressing any issues that may arise in a professional manner.
Building positive relationships with a diverse range of individuals, including staff, members, program participants, and children, is essential.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum age of 16 years. Candidates aged 15 may apply for a Junior Lifeguard position.
- Current certifications in ARC/YMCA Lifeguard, First Aid, AED, Emergency Oxygen, and CPR-PR.
- Exhibit professionalism, alertness, courtesy, and tact in all interactions.
- Complete Blood Borne Pathogens training within 30 days of hire.
Benefits:
All employees receive a complimentary individual membership, and those working 10 or more hours per week are eligible for a free family membership. Additionally, employees can enjoy discounts of 50-100% on various programs, and eligible staff will have 12% of their salary contributed to their retirement plan.
Childcare benefits exceeding $5000 are subject to taxation and will be processed accordingly. Some program limitations and restrictions may apply.
Part-time employees are also entitled to paid sick leave at a rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.
Posted Salary Range:
USD $18.50 /Hr.
