Job Summary

The CA High Speed Rail Authority is seeking a highly skilled Information Officer I to join our Media Relations team. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of our comprehensive media and communications program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with researching and preparing a wide range of informational materials for dissemination to the media, stakeholders, and the public regarding the activities and objectives of the CA High Speed Rail program.
  • Research and prepare talking points, digital content, press releases, and develop and pitch stories to local, regional, and non-traditional media outlets.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of official events, managing and drafting correspondence, and other duties as required.
  • Work closely with the Information Officer II, Deputy Director of Communications, and Chief of Strategic Communications to ensure effective communication and coordination.
Requirements
  • Eligibility to be employed as a Retired Annuitant by the State of California.
  • Ability to work in a professional office environment, using a computer, mouse, and keyboard, and sitting for long periods of time at a computer screen.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships and display professionalism and respect for others in all contact opportunities.
