We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Office of Addiction Services and Supports. The successful candidate will possess strong clinical skills and experience in psychiatric and adult health nursing.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations on newly admitted patients.
- Author medication orders and collaborate with nursing staff as needed.
- Assess patients and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Provide educational lectures and individual health counseling to patients.
- Refer patients to local hospitals for acute medical and psychiatric care.
- May serve as Employee Health Coordinator and participate in activities to improve patient care and facility operations.
- Certification and current registration as a Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry or Adult Health by the New York State Education Department.
- Eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs.
- Ability to maintain licensure, certification, and Medicaid/Medicare eligibility.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment and be required to use a computer daily for patient documentation and other communications. May provide services via telemedicine and travel to other ATCs as needed.
OASAS Addiction Treatment Centers (ATCs) are Tobacco Free Facilities.
