Employment Specialist Role Overview

At Accord, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Employment Specialist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting people with disabilities and helping them achieve their employment goals.

About the Job:

  • This role involves working closely with clients to understand their strengths, interests, and preferences, and providing personalized support to help them find competitive employment opportunities in their community.
  • You will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized employment plans, providing job coaching and training, and maintaining regular communication with clients, families, and support teams.
  • In addition to client-facing work, you will also engage in administrative tasks such as data entry, reporting, and record-keeping.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, including people with disabilities and their families.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record (required for transportation of clients).
  • Possession of a degree in human services or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with Minnesota Department of Human Services regulations and guidelines related to disability services.
