POSITION SUMMARY:


ABA Pathways is seeking a dedicated speech-language pathologist or clinical fellow to deliver exceptional care to individuals through the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders.

This role involves providing alternative communication (AAC) systems for patients facing severe expressive and/or language comprehension challenges, including those with autism spectrum disorder or progressive neurological conditions.

The Speech-Language Pathologist will engage in one-on-one sessions with patients and will also be responsible for training staff on tailored programs that cater to the unique needs of each patient, aiming to enhance their quality of life and promote independence.

Clinical fellows will receive appropriate supervision.
Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available, with part-time roles suitable for after-school hours and 2-3 days per week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and execute treatment plans based on evaluations and recommendations from BCBA, physicians, psychologists, or social workers.
Document and maintain accurate records of patient information.
Conduct hearing or speech and language assessments, tests, or evaluations for patients.
Collaborate effectively with the patient’s multidisciplinary team.
Provide consultation and guidance to patients, family members, educators, or medical personnel regarding communication strategies and speech/language development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Encourage maximum independence by selecting and tailoring therapies to align with each individual's physical capabilities, cognitive levels, and interests.
Facilitate discharge planning in consultation with physicians, social workers, BCBA, support coordinators, and family members.
Ability to lift, move, and assist with weights up to 30 lbs and maintain standing for extended periods.

Ensure continuity of therapeutic plans post-discharge by instructing patients, families, and caregivers on home exercise programs; recommending assistive devices; and suggesting outpatient or home health follow-up services.

Maintain patient confidentiality and safeguard operations by keeping sensitive information secure.
Ensure a safe and clean working environment by adhering to established procedures, rules, and regulations.
Guarantee the functionality of equipment by performing preventive maintenance, following manufacturer guidelines, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating repairs.
Enhance professional and technical knowledge by participating in educational workshops, reviewing industry publications, and engaging in professional networks.
Support staff development by sharing knowledge and conducting in-service training sessions.

Comply with all federal, state, and local legal and certification standards by staying informed on current and upcoming legislation; ensuring adherence to regulations; and advising management on necessary actions.

Contribute to team objectives by achieving related results as needed.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
Participate in regularly scheduled patient and/or stakeholder team meetings.
Check and respond to work-related communications daily.
Generate reports as required by stakeholders.
Adhere to and promote the company’s mission, policies, and procedures.
Communicate issues to the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and seek assistance when necessary.
Identify and propose innovative ideas and solutions to enhance operational efficiency or service delivery.
Represent the organization and the role in a professional manner at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's or doctoral degree in speech-language pathology or a related field from an accredited institution. Clinical fellows are encouraged to apply.
Possession of the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
Demonstrated experience and skills in leadership within a team setting.
Completion of fingerprint, TB, background checks, and clearance, along with infant/child CPR and First Aid certification will be necessary.
