Bulk Manager Job Description

At Sprouts Farmers Market, we're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Bulk Manager to join our team. As a key member of our grocery department, you'll be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, packing, and stocking of all bulk foods featured at Sprouts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the merchandising of bulk foods, ensuring that products are properly packaged and scaled, and that the bulk area is clean and orderly at all times.
  • Manage inventory, rotate product using code dates, and follow the company's cleaning and sanitation program.
  • Ensure compliance with all company and governmental safety, health, Weights & Measures, and COOL compliance regulations.
  • Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
  • Provide a high level of customer service, ensuring that customers have a positive experience in the bulk department.
  • Recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
  • Exercise independent judgment to address Team Member concerns, and take corrective action when needed.
  • Create and adjust schedules and staffing levels to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
Requirements:
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a retail grocery environment and 1 year of managerial leadership experience.
  • Dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
  • Outgoing and friendly behavior, with a positive attitude towards Team Members and customers.
  • Ability to move vertically/horizontally, transferring product weighing up to 50 lbs., for a distance up to 4 feet for up to 15 hours without mechanical assistance.
