Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Specialist to join their team in Sterling Heights, MI.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact and liaison for technical data protection tagging within Teamcenter.
  • Assign classification of products using EAR and CCL regulations, informed compliance publications, and company engineering materials.
  • Analyze technical data and articulate the appropriate HTS code as necessary.
  • Understand and interpret regulations impacting tagging, including Trade Compliance, Intellectual Property, Export Compliance, and Controlled Unclassified Information.
  • Assign Harmonized System (HS) tariff codes, Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs), and regional trade-related-codes to primary and secondary products imported and exported in the normal course of business.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to review related data and agreements to ensure compliance.
  • Support various stages of audits and assessments.
  • Prioritize data tagging needs in the tagging workflow for all objects, ensuring timely classification based on need by date.
  • Collaborate with the Information Security function to maintain records of all data assets and exports and maintain a data.
  • Perform mass updates based on regulation changes to ensure security of data.
  • Apply appropriate data protection methods (projects and licenses).
  • Subject matter expert for data transfers / secure collaboration.
  • Departmental training as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience with Trade compliance (ITAR and commerce)
  • Experience in manufacturing
  • Bachelor's Degree
