Telly TV OS Engineering Team Manager

This role requires a highly skilled and dedicated individual to lead the design, development, and maintenance of Telly TV OS, core applications & Android Open Source.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving technical direction, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality applications and features. They will also work closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend developers to ensure seamless integration and delivery of business requirements.
Responsibilities:
">- Drive Technical Direction: Set the technical roadmap for Android development within the organization, contributing to the overall AOSP strategy.
- Mentor Junior Engineers: Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers, promoting best practices and facilitating their professional growth.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend developers to deliver high-quality applications and features.
- Analyze Performance Data: Review and analyze performance data daily to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for optimization.
- Resolve Operational Issues: Proactively anticipate and resolve operational issues, ensuring continuous improvement of firmware developer operations.
- Lead by Example: Serve as a player/coach, leading by example while preparing to build and manage a small SW team over the next year.
Requirements:
">- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of professional experience in Android development, with a strong portfolio of published applications.
Technical Skills:
">- Proficiency in Kotlin and Java and strong understanding of Android SDK, NDK, Jetpack components, and Android Studio. Strong understanding of software dev principles.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, third-party libraries, and cloud-based services.
- Knowledge of UI/UX design principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
