Customer Service Ambassador for Arlington Facilities

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Customer Service Ambassador to provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering phone calls, and responding to inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.

This position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure a safe and productive experience for users and customers. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to learn and apply computer skills, and demonstrate effective organization skills.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide customer service by accessing patron information, receiving money, and assisting with customer inquiries.
  • Perform facility maintenance and setup, respond to issues, and maintain cleanliness.
  • Negotiate patron account information, apply policies and procedures, perform data entry tasks, and coordinate programming.
  • Respond to multiple demands for information from the public and adjust to changing subject matter or informational needs.

Other Job Functions:

  • Work with various organizations, individuals, and departments to accommodate needs for facility access, program information, and orientation.
  • Collaborate with vendors, outside agencies, and other departments to meet facility access, program information, and orientation needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of modern office methods, practices, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of facility management to ensure a safe and productive experience.
  • Knowledge of print sources, online catalogs, databases, and remote information access sources.
  • Ability to apply appropriate interpersonal skills with the public and city staff to maintain positive relations.
  • Ability to learn and apply computer skills to register customers, maintain site records, and accounts.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective organization skills for recordkeeping, filing, and coordination of a heavily used public facility.
  • Ability to perform physical skills including seeing, sorting, typing, pulling, pushing, and lifting.
  • Ability to operate office equipment including personal computers, fax machines, multi-line telephones, scanners, and calculators.
  • Ability to drive a motorized vehicle.
  • Skill in making simple arithmetic calculations.
  • Skill in cash register use and handling money and balancing accounts.
  • Skill in analyzing information needs with careful attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with organizations, individuals, and departments to schedule room reservations and rentals through an online system.

Qualifying Education and Experience:

Some college plus one year of related customer service experience or equivalent combination.

Bilingual and one year of college preferred.

Possession of a valid Texas Operator's License, Class C required.

Successful completion of the City of Arlington's CPR and First Aid training required upon hire.

Background Requirements:

Pre-placement screening includes a criminal background check, drug/alcohol testing, physical and Human Performance Evaluation (HPE), and motor vehicle review (MVR).
