Job Summary

As a Treatment Foster Care (TFC) Specialist, you will play a vital role in connecting children with loving and supportive foster homes. Your responsibilities will encompass the careful selection, training, and ongoing support of TFC resource providers who are committed to creating safe and nurturing environments for children facing unique challenges.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Department of Social Services, Children's Division, to identify suitable foster care placements for children in need.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of potential TFC resource providers to ensure they possess the necessary skills and dedication to provide quality care.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for TFC resource providers, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to effectively support children in their care.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to TFC resource providers, addressing any challenges they may face and ensuring the well-being of the children in their homes.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, therapists, and other professionals, to develop individualized care plans for each child.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related human services field from an accredited institution.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with children and families in the direct delivery of social services within a public or private agency, preferably in foster care or adoption.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, critical thinking skills, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Flexibility in working evenings/weekends and occasional on-call availability.
