Job Summary

Pride Health is seeking a highly skilled Child Life Specialist to join our team in Brooklyn. As a Child Life Specialist, you will work with children and families to provide emotional support and guidance during times of crisis. This is a full-time direct hire opportunity with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct strength-based, trauma-informed assessments to identify children's needs and develop individualized plans for support.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to families in childcare efforts, including preparing children and families for medical and mental health procedures.
  • Offer individual and family counseling to assist families dealing with grief/loss and other mental health, substance use, or familial issues.
  • Support children through therapeutic play and provide behavioral intervention as needed.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support to children and families.

Requirements

  • Certified in NY as an LMSW, LMHC, or LMFT required.
  • Master's Degree required (Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, etc.).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Experience with mental illness, substance use, and co-occurring disorders.
  • Experience in respite, residential or crisis programs.
  • Strong communication and computer skills (Excel, Teams, Outlook).
  • Experience with children, youth, and families.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
