Louisville, Kentucky, United States Fabricated Metals Full time

Join Our Team as a Purchasing Agent

About Us:

At Fabricated Metals, we pride ourselves on building enduring products and relationships. As a family-owned enterprise with a proven history of consistent growth, we are eager to enhance our trajectory. Our diverse workforce, fluent in 22 languages, is deeply committed to our mission and each other.

Our Challenge:

The disruptions caused by Covid-19 have impacted our supply chain, and we are seeking a dedicated Purchasing Agent to support our Production team in obtaining essential materials promptly. This role is crucial to our Manufacturing division and will interact with various departments.

What We Are Not:

  • Overly sophisticated - We believe that quality products and a strong team do not require extravagant facilities.
  • Technology-driven - While we utilize technology in our products and processes, it is not our primary focus.
  • Transactional - We value long-term relationships with our team members and key customers.
  • Complacent - We celebrate our successes but continuously set new objectives.

What We Are Looking For:

  • A competitive spirit - You are driven by achieving goals and fostering continuous improvement, relying on metrics to guide your efforts.
  • Experience in procurement - You have a background in purchasing for a manufacturing environment or a complex organization, ideally with experience in sourcing raw materials like steel and aluminum.
  • Analytical mindset - You enjoy data analysis, extracting insights, identifying trends, and prioritizing cost-saving initiatives.
  • Proven track record - You have successfully delivered savings through effective procurement strategies.
  • Emotional intelligence - You possess patience and the ability to collaborate with colleagues who may challenge your ideas.
  • A strong work ethic - You recognize the opportunities within our organization and are prepared to dedicate yourself fully to your role.
  • Process improvement focus - You are passionate about enhancing processes and implementing new policies.
  • Technical proficiency - You are skilled in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and have experience with commodity management and ERP systems.
  • Relevant experience - A minimum of 2 years in a similar role is preferred.
  • Educational background - A Bachelor's degree in supply chain, finance, business, or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory; equivalent experience is also acceptable.
