Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to join our Sports Medicine team at Lancaster General Health. As an Athletic Trainer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and support to athletes and patients in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Athletic Training Services: Ensure that athletic training services are provided in an accessible, cost-effective, and high-quality manner while in compliance with established policies and protocols.
  • Evaluate and Develop Treatment Plans: Evaluate patients with objective measures and develop treatment goals in collaboration with physical therapists to ensure the best treatment plan is developed and performed.
  • Document Patient Care: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation in patient records, monitoring and evaluating response to intervention, and modifying treatment in agreement with the physician.
  • Communicate Effectively: Liaise between patients, support staff, and physicians to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Assist with Administrative Tasks: Assist with screenings, presentations, and in-services for area coaches, athletes, and parents, as well as assist with the coverage of local races, sports physicals, and sporting events.
  • Collaborate with Sports Medicine Leadership: Work with Sports Medicine Leadership to expand the program's market share, identify new opportunities, and build relationships with secondary schools, colleges, and youth programs.
  • Support Clinical Operations: Assist physicians with procedures as needed, review medical records prior to appointments to ensure all necessary information is available, and maintain and monitor work schedules.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Graduate of a CAATE-approved Athletic Training Program and current certification as an Athletic Trainer, issued by the National Board of Certification (BOC).
  • Experience and Skills: One year of experience in a traditional setting, clinical experience in an outpatient office, and excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Additional Requirements: Valid current driver's license, PA licensed or eligible as an Athletic Trainer, and CPR Healthcare/BLS certification.
