PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
Upon successful job placement, support individuals in achieving job performance standards and cultivating positive relationships with colleagues to sustain employment. Ensure that supported employment services are tailored to the individual's needs, promoting independence and choice based on their skills and capabilities.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Facilitate the development of vocational skills essential for community-integrated employment; effectively instruct individuals to acquire job skills that meet employer expectations.

• Advocate for the principles of individualization, inclusion, integration, and productivity to enhance progress and satisfaction for individuals receiving supported employment services.

• Provide supportive counseling as necessary to address social, interpersonal, and job-related challenges raised by the individual, their employer, or other stakeholders.

• Conduct job development activities as needed for assigned individuals to identify employment opportunities that align with their goals, interests, and skills.

• Maintain monthly progress documentation on goals as required by funding sources, and ensure accurate record-keeping for each individual's file regarding assessments, time studies, and other program mandates.

• Engage in workshops and/or training sessions as deemed appropriate by the Supervisor; stay informed on current trends in training and vocational skills development.

• Collaborate with other agency personnel to identify the needs of individuals preparing for integrated community employment.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid NYS Driver's license or the ability to convert an out-of-state license within 90 days.

• Capability to be certified in all required training (Training sessions are conducted during daytime hours).

• Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Strong written, verbal communication, and basic computer skills.

• One year of experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.

• High School Diploma or GED (now referred to as TASC).

• Willingness to assist in various job sectors: retail, culinary, agriculture, administrative, etc.
