Civil Litigation Counsel

Overview

Are you an experienced legal professional eager to take the next step in your career? We are looking for a dedicated Civil Litigation Counsel for a direct hire position with a prominent firm specializing in complex civil litigation and insurance defense. This role is fully remote.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for clients throughout all stages of civil litigation, encompassing pre-trial, trial, and appellate processes.
  • Perform comprehensive legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and various court documents.
  • Formulate case strategies and offer legal advice to clients regarding litigation issues.
  • Participate in court hearings, depositions, mediations, and arbitration sessions.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, experts, and clients to achieve optimal results.
  • Maintain thorough and organized case files and documentation.
  • Keep clients updated on case progress and respond promptly to their inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law institution.
  • Active membership in the Texas State Bar with good standing.
  • 3-5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation.
  • In-depth understanding of Texas civil procedure and substantive law.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a substantial caseload independently.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with legal research tools and litigation software.
