Ceramic Quality Assurance Engineer

The Ceramic Quality Engineer will report to the R&D and Quality Manager, ensuring that customer specifications are met throughout all manufacturing processes to achieve the desired product attributes.
This role involves active participation as a key member of the Quality & Process Control Integrated Support Team (IST), providing guidance and technical support for the site's Integrated Process Teams.
The incumbent is responsible for identifying and verifying key material and product characteristics at each stage of the manufacturing process.
This position focuses on enhancing process control, detecting defects, and improving quality assurance to validate product acceptance.
The role emphasizes the overall Quality Management System, ensuring that quality standards are implemented and upheld throughout the facility in alignment with quality policies, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
Additionally, the Quality Engineer will assist in the deployment and advancement of the WCM Quality & Process Control Pillar, serving as the site’s champion for focused improvement and the final authority on material and product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process & Quality Control (50%): Supervise the activities of Quality Engineers, Lab Technicians, and Final Inspectors. Plan and direct quality standards development, application, and maintenance for processes, materials, and products.
- Quality Management System (20%): Ensure compliance with ISO 9000 standards. Oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the facility's Quality System.
- Continuous Improvement (20%): Actively participate in WCM initiatives, leading training and projects aimed at reducing quality losses.
- Environmental, Health & Safety (10%): Model EHS standards and practices, promoting a culture of safety and accountability.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a Technical/Science discipline is required, with a preference for an advanced degree in Quality or Ceramic Engineering.
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Quality department within a manufacturing environment is essential. Experience in change management and leading audits is also required.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and relevant industry standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to lead teams and foster a culture of employee engagement.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
This position requires a dedicated, self-motivated individual capable of making independent decisions and driving quality improvements.
