Job Summary

The Retail Operations Manager Trainee is responsible for enhancing store performance, promoting exceptional client service, and ensuring operational excellence to meet or exceed established productivity targets. This individual will oversee and guide Tanning Consultants to achieve company objectives and will exemplify all company operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
  • Oversee and manage daily salon operations in a dynamic environment.
  • Lead by example in all company functions, creating a client-focused experience and achieving personal sales goals.
  • Maintain a professional and impeccably clean salon environment.
  • Set clear goals and objectives for team members.
  • Provide coaching, training, and constructive feedback to enhance team performance.
  • Generate sales reports, manage inventory, and assist with other managerial functions.
  • Support the Salon Director in managing revenue and expenses.
  • Help maintain appropriate staffing levels to ensure maximum productivity and excellent customer service while controlling labor costs.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to work a 5-day workweek with approximately 35 to 45 hours per week based on hourly or salary status.
Experience:
  • Management and/or sales experience is required.
  • Experience in the beauty industry and/or customer service is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills (proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple situations simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of client service techniques and operational practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor.
  • Team-building capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend at the waist to clean tanning equipment.
  • Ability to lift or assist in lifting heavy items.
  • Ability to bend down to pick up trash, towels, etc.
  • Ability to perform cleaning tasks including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.
