Position Overview:
A Senior Credit Officer is responsible for making informed credit decisions for a designated group of Relationship Managers, adhering to the Bank's Credit Policy through meticulous and precise credit risk analysis of both new and existing client relationships.
This role involves structuring commercial and commercial real estate loans effectively, as well as overseeing credit administration metrics, including delinquency rates, annual reviews, and compliance with financial covenants for the assigned Relationship Managers.
Additionally, a Senior Credit Officer may oversee a team of Credit Administration associates, offering guidance, support, and direction as necessary.Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting; specialized training in bank lending is preferred.
A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in relevant roles is essential.
Expertise in advanced credit and portfolio analysis and management; comprehensive understanding of lending and credit principles, policies, and practices; proficient in financial statement analysis; awareness of current lending and collection laws and regulations; strong independent decision-making capabilities; ability to work autonomously at a high level with minimal managerial oversight; demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills; high integrity; and excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate and present effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the efficiency and accuracy of all analytical tasks, such as financial statement analysis, identifying financial and structural risks, and reviewing documentation and collateral; collaborate closely with the Chief Credit Officer and Credit Administration team to streamline operations, enhance customer service, and improve internal processes; assist in regulatory compliance initiatives and monitor adherence to regulations; contribute to the development of loan and credit policies and procedures across various loan types; evaluate existing credit relationships to identify potential deterioration.
Make informed credit decisions regarding prospective and existing clients in line with Bank credit policies and established lending authority limits.
Exercise sound judgment in structuring commercial loan requests, balancing credit risk management with loan production; implement strategies to meet departmental goals while complying with current laws and organizational policies aimed at fostering a workplace free from harassment and discrimination.
Engage in and support adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices that promote risk management and the overall safety and soundness of the bank, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements (e.g., Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act); ensure that all department personnel follow the same standards.
