The Behavioral Health Specialist is a key member of our team, responsible for providing high-quality care and support to our patients. As a per diem position, this role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work closely with other professionals.
Main Duties:
- Takes a primary role in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment through patient observation, communication, and interaction.
- Develops and implements behavior monitoring and safety plans for patients.
- Provides quality patient care by maintaining knowledge and skill level related to symptoms and treatment of behavioral disorders.
Essential Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in a human service field, along with either being credentialed as an alcoholism and substance abuse counselor (CASAC) or being a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) within NYS, is required. At least 3 years of experience working in a position focused on serving those with mental illness in an inpatient hospital setting is also necessary.
