We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Therapeutic Interventionist to join our team at Stony Brook Medicine. As a Therapeutic Interventionist, you will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans.

Your key responsibilities will include maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, conducting individual and group therapy sessions, assessing and interacting therapeutically with patients and their families, and providing treatment that promotes patient dignity, independence, and individuality. You will also participate in team treatment, review and implement patient treatment plans, and make rounds with the healthcare team.

To be successful in this position, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychiatric Nursing, Psychology, or an equivalent field is preferred. However, in lieu of a Master's or Doctoral Degree, the individual should have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a human service field and be either credentialed as an alcoholism and substance abuse counselor (CASAC) or be a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) within NYS.
