Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Privacy Counsel to join our team at Apple. As a key member of our Legal group, you will play a critical role in upholding our high ethical and corporate standards, as well as defending our intellectual property, by providing legal support for all our products and businesses across the globe.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and monitor a privacy program to ensure that technology and business processes meet applicable legal requirements.
  • Coordinate internal and external inquiries, compliance reviews, and monitoring activities.
  • Advise on general privacy and data protection/security laws, regulations, requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Identify and communicate potential risk areas with leadership.
  • Stay informed of and properly communicate any changes to or developments in privacy and data protection laws, regulations, standards, and guidance.
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of experience in privacy and/or data governance and compliance.
  • Knowledge of privacy and data protection laws and regulations, experience in driving regulatory work, including regulatory responses.
  • Experience conducting ongoing compliance monitoring activities in coordination with other compliance and operational assessment functions.
  • Fluency in security frameworks, including ISO, NIST, and knowledge of financial-related data security requirements such as NYDFS Cybersecurity Regulations and PCI DSS.
  • JD or equivalent and admission to at least one US state bar.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Pulse on cutting-edge legal issues like AI/ML in the financial services context, with an emphasis on financial data requirements.
  • Able to clearly organize and inform through excellent written and verbal communications.
  • Ability to partner at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical capability with attention to detail.
