Anesthesia Technician

The Anesthesia Technician plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care by providing critical support to the anesthesia clinician during surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and organize equipment and supplies for scheduled and emergent cases in anesthetizing locations.
- Review present and future surgical schedules to ensure anesthesia staff have the necessary equipment and supplies.
- Transport and set up equipment needed for procedures, including laryngoscope blades, monitors, and oxygen tanks.
- Assure equipment is decontaminated and in good working condition before each procedure.
- Follow department procedures for proper procurement and handling of non-controlled medications and I.V. fluids.
- Perform thorough, prompt room turnover between procedures, including cleaning and disinfection, restocking of anesthesia supplies, and cleaning/storing of anesthesia equipment.
- Calibrate and troubleshoot minor malfunctions of anesthesia equipment.
- 1 year experience in a perioperative environment as an Anesthesia Tech preferred.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Anesthesia Tech Certificate Preferred.
