Position Overview
- Support the formulation of system specifications, functional criteria, and their distribution to specific hardware, software, facilities, and personnel elements.
- Facilitate the resolution of action items arising from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design assessments, program evaluations, and testing reviews necessitating interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Engage in defining interfaces, design alterations, and configuration changes among impacted teams and individuals throughout the project lifecycle.
- Generate alternative system concepts, physical frameworks, and design strategies.
- Contribute to the establishment and approval of requirements, designs, interfaces, and testing protocols that serve as a unified reference for hardware and software developers.
- Outline the methodologies, processes, and evaluation standards by which systems, subsystems, and deliverables are validated against their specifications in a documented plan.
- Devise system design solutions that meet the established system requirements and fulfill functional analyses.
- Review and provide feedback on program and contract work breakdown structures (WBS), work packages, and the integrated master schedule (IMS).
- Offer technical guidance for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of specific components within complex hardware/software systems, including requirements gathering, analysis, functional allocation, conducting systems requirements reviews, developing operational concepts and interface standards, and performing both technical and non-technical assessments as well as end-to-end flow analysis.
- Implement comprehensive Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions.
- Develop scenarios and an Operational Concept that outlines the interactions between the system, the user, and the environment, addressing operational, support, maintenance, and disposal requirements.
- Review and/or endorse system engineering documentation to ensure that processes and specifications align with system needs and are accurate, thorough, and complete.
- Conduct quantitative assessments in non-functional system performance areas such as Reliability, Maintainability, Vulnerability, and Survivability.
- Establish and adhere to a formal procedure for coordinating system integration efforts among multiple teams, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all interfaces.
- Document all interface designs in a standardized interface control format and maintain interface data in a universally accessible repository.
- Create timeline analysis diagrams that illustrate the flow of time-dependent functions.
- Establish a systematic approach to proactively manage changes to requirements, considering impacts prior to commitment to change, securing stakeholder agreement, eliminating ambiguity, ensuring traceability to source requirements, and tracking and resolving open actions.
- Evaluate each risk to the program, determining the likelihood of occurrence and the quantified consequences of failure in accordance with an approved risk management strategy.
- Oversee and maintain the technical integrity of the system baseline over time, continually updating it as various changes are introduced during the lifecycle from development through deployment and operations & maintenance.
- In collaboration with system stakeholders, plan the verification efforts for new and untested designs early in the development lifecycle to ensure compliance with established requirements.
- Assist in the planning and test analysis of the Department of Defense Certification/Accreditation Process, along with other Government Certification and Accreditation processes.
- Support the creation and review of Joint Capability Integration Development System (JCIDS) documents.
Position / Candidate Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen with TS/SCI clearance and polygraph.
- A Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
- A Bachelor's degree with 7-9 years of relevant experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity, or 5-7 years of experience with a Master's degree.
- At least 3 years of experience providing System Engineering services for physical security systems and IT solutions is required.

- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is a plus.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% - 50% of the time.
