Nurse Anesthetist

The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a skilled Nurse Anesthetist to join our Anesthesiology department in a part-time capacity. As a CRNA, you will be responsible for providing exceptional anesthesia care to our patients, working closely with a talented team of physicians, CRNAs, and other healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities:
• Determine an appropriate pre-anesthesia examination has been made by a physician, relevant tests have been completed, and a thorough assessment of the patient has been performed.
• Develop a plan of care based on assessment, interpretation, anticipated procedure, and essential equipment.
• Coordinate with appropriate healthcare providers, administer anesthetic agents and adjunctive therapeutics, and monitor physiological responses to maintain or stabilize the patient's condition.
• Provide resuscitative care, record pertinent information on the patient's records, and terminate anesthesia as needed.
• Collaborate with the anesthesiology team to provide exceptional patient care and contribute to the growth of our academic department.
Requirements:
• Degree requirements as defined by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners for clinical licensure as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
• Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN) issued by the Texas Board of Nursing.
• Current State of Texas Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license recognizing the certification for Advanced Practice Registered Nurse CRNA (APRN-CRNA), issued by the Texas Board of Nursing.
• Certification or recertification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) issued by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
