Production Leadership Role at Simmons Pet Food Inc

We are seeking a skilled Production Team Lead to oversee daily operations and drive productivity in our food processing team. This leadership role requires effective communication, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to motivate employees to achieve production goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Supervision: Directly supervise and manage a team of front-line employees to ensure daily production requirements are met.
  • Communication and Motivation: Effectively communicate with and motivate employees to maintain discipline, teamwork, and safety standards.
  • Scheduling and Time-Off Approval: Manage scheduling, attendance tracking, and time-off approvals for direct reports.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Activities: Supervise and coordinate the activities of workers engaged in processing and/or development of products or services.
  • Inventories and Supplies: Maintain inventory records and requisition ingredients and supplies as needed.
  • Evaluation and Quality Control: Evaluate materials and products to maintain organizational standards.
  • Interdepartmental Coordination: Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities between departments.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Production Reports: Manage various production reports to review daily production against customer requirements.
  • Report Interpretation: Interpret and understand reports within their area of responsibility.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Promote a Safe Work Environment: Promote a safe work environment and meet safety requirements.
  • Compliance: Comply with all policies and regulations set forth by Simmons, OSHA, and government agencies.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Culture Development: Foster a continuous improvement culture for direct reports.
  • Process Optimization: Ensure operations are performed appropriately to improve processes and reduce waste.

Employee Management:

  • Direct Supervision: Directs and supervises employees' work activities and monitors work performance.
  • Disciplinary Actions: Administers disciplinary actions and recommends performance improvement actions.

Team Participation:

  • Team Collaboration: Participates in the ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
  • Best Practices: Coordinates work to ensure best practices with team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's Degree or 4 years related work experience with a minimum of 1 year experience in a leading role.
  • Preferred Experience: PREFERRED EXPERIENCE within a food processing organization.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year
