Sevita is a leading provider of home and community-based specialized healthcare services. We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Nurse Administrator.

Job Summary:

The Nurse Administrator will provide nursing services, training, oversight, and support to address the medical or psychiatric needs of individuals with developmental disabilities, substance abuse issues, and/or emotional or behavioral challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the medical assessment of individuals referred to the program and collaborate with the Program Director or Area Director to determine appropriateness for placement in the community.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of service plans and supervise the medical components of the plan.
  • Ensure that current and complete medical records and reports are in accordance with regulatory and corporate standards.
  • Develop training flow charts specific to individuals receiving services and provide medical skills training to individuals served, mentors, respite providers, staff, and biological family members.
  • Supervise and manage LPNs, including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, training, and ongoing support.
  • Present medical skills components at pre-service orientation and conduct CPR/First Aid training as needed.
  • Participate in Individual Health Plan (IHP) or Plan of Care (POC) teams, evaluate medical needs, and generate ongoing health care protocols.
  • Oversee the management of high-risk medical conditions and private duty nursing services.
  • Promote health and wellness for individuals and ensure nursing actions and steps are implemented for prevention of falls, injuries, and recurrence of health problems.
  • Administer medications according to established guidelines and provide documentation for all medications given.
  • Actively participate in IDT meetings, Human Rights Committee, Health and Safety Committee, and Administration meetings as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited RN program with current state RN license.
  • One year of experience working with medically complex individuals.
  • Current driver's license, car registration, and auto insurance if providing transportation to individuals receiving services.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Good communication skills with ability to build rapport with others.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with ability to multi-task.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks/workload.
