Position Overview

As a Receiving Associate, also referred to as a Back of House Associate, your role will involve overseeing the merchandise flow into our retail locations. You will collaborate with a team to ensure that products are received, processed, and made available for sale promptly and efficiently, while also maintaining the organization of merchandise within the store and stockroom.

We seek adaptable team players who excel in a dynamic environment, can manage multiple tasks, and are available for various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Welcome customers, respond to inquiries, and provide assistance in a courteous and professional manner. Ensure a positive shopping experience by addressing customer concerns and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Receiving and Unloading: Accept and unload merchandise from delivery vehicles; unpack items from vendor packaging; and remove products from plastic bags and boxes.
  • Sorting and Organizing: Classify and arrange merchandise by type, size, or category. Ensure items are accurately labeled and easy to identify. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the receiving area.
  • Processing and Signing: Complete all receiving and processing tasks in line with productivity standards, timelines, and compliance procedures. Ensure promotional signage is accurate and current.
  • Stockroom Management: Move merchandise from the receiving area to the stockroom or sales floor and assist the Merchandise Team with fixture and merchandise movement for new product placements, seasonal changes, and clearance setups.
  • Picking and Packing: Select merchandise from the sales floor and apply packing protocols to ensure customers receive their packages in excellent condition; process returns and abandoned in-store pickup orders.
  • Customer Pick-up: Retrieve orders from back-of-house storage and deliver them curbside to customers; monitor alerts to ensure timely completion of Buy Online Pickup In-Store (BOPS) orders.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental goals and maintain a positive work environment. Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors, sharing feedback, ideas, and concerns.

  • No specific education or experience required.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods (at least two consecutive hours) of standing and walking throughout the store or department.
  • Frequent use of computers and handheld electronic devices.
  • Reaching, including above eye level, crouching, kneeling, and color vision.
  • This position involves lifting, continuous movement, standing, reaching with arms and hands, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
