Position SummaryThe Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the effective management of warehouse operations, including overseeing personnel, processes, and tools necessary for the efficient handling of products. This role is crucial in driving business improvements and ensuring that operational goals are met.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the crossdock operations, which include receiving shipments, conducting inventory audits for compliance, and coordinating the dispatch of materials.
- Build and maintain a high-performing team through effective recruitment, training, and motivation of staff. Conduct performance evaluations in collaboration with management.
- Regularly review and audit operational procedures to maintain efficiency and address any unforeseen challenges that may arise.
- Monitor the productivity and quality standards of warehouse staff, ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
- Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and meet business objectives.
- Analyze workload and scheduling requirements to develop effective execution plans, including resource allocation.
- Communicate operational objectives and updates through regular team meetings and shift briefings.
- Support the implementation of performance management systems to identify and achieve operational goals.
- Ensure resource management aligns with safety, quality, delivery, engagement, and cost objectives.
- Foster positive employee relations and promote a collaborative work environment.
- Provide coaching and development opportunities for entry-level staff, ensuring ongoing training is up to date.
- Optimize warehouse resource utilization while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Safeguard company assets and ensure ethical practices are upheld.
- Establish and maintain safety protocols to promote a clean and secure work environment.
- Implement recommendations for continuous improvement, digitalization, and automation.
- Oversee warehouse security and enforce proper access protocols.
- Maintain the facility and equipment in excellent condition.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree with 2 years of leadership experience or an Associate's degree with 5 or more years of leadership experience.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proven experience in warehouse and distribution operations.
- Familiarity with Continuous Improvement methodologies and lean logistics practices is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with SAP systems is a plus.
- Strong understanding of project management principles.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Effective presentation skills for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated managerial skills in organization, analysis, planning, and communication.
- Ability to motivate and lead a diverse workforce.
