Director of Nursing Services

Sunrise Senior Living is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nursing Services to lead our skilled nursing operations. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and services to our residents while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Responsibilities:- Direct and supervise the management of the nursing team to ensure high-quality care and services.
- Implement and monitor systems to ensure consistent delivery of quality care and services.
- Develop and implement staffing and scheduling patterns to maintain continuity of care and regulatory compliance.
- Assess and monitor the clinical setting to ensure effective and safe care.
- Facilitate effective communication between cross-functional teams and promote a team approach in care delivery.
- Maintain communication with residents' physicians, families, and responsible parties to ensure their needs are met.
- Identify ongoing needs of residents to maintain the highest quality standards for well-being.
- Ensure proper utilization of the Resident Care Plan by all team members.
- Ensure proper follow-through and documentation of care.
- Facilitate relationships with Hospice, Therapy, and other providers.
- Participate in community awareness activities and community relationship development.
- Assist in counseling residents, families, or responsible parties during difficult transitional care periods.
- Graduate of an approved college or school of nursing.
- Current state license as a Registered Nurse.
- A minimum of two years' experience in a nurse management position within a skilled nursing environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices, techniques, and methods as applied to skilled nursing care.
- Demonstration of knowledge in federal and state long-term care regulations.
- Proficiency in Medicare, Minimum Data Set (MDS), and Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI).
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and delegate assignments to team members.
- Competent in organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
