Job Overview
The Juvenile Case Management Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the personnel and operations of the assigned unit. This role ensures compliance with relevant state and federal regulations, as well as departmental policies. The supervisor will engage in research, develop programs, and establish policies and objectives for the unit. Direct supervision of youth in secure facilities may be required, along with administrative oversight in the absence of higher management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of staff responsible for monitoring and guiding clients within the juvenile justice system. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating employee performance.
- Plan and allocate workloads effectively, ensuring adherence to laws and policies. Set task priorities and monitor progress to meet objectives.
- Assess and recommend changes to office policies and procedures. Prepare necessary reports and assist in operational analysis and budget preparation.
- Provide guidance to staff on complex client issues and ensure quality service delivery.
- Conduct research and develop programs to meet specialized needs, providing clinical oversight as necessary.
- Manage a caseload, conducting reviews and audits, and maintaining accurate case files.
- Address and resolve complaints from clients and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and problem resolution.
- Coordinate with other divisions and represent the department in collaborative efforts with law enforcement and governmental agencies.
- May perform administrative tasks and oversee facility operations in the absence of senior management.
- Ensure safety and security in secure facilities, maintaining accountability for clients and equipment.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Social or Behavioral Sciences, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Counseling, Education, Criminal Justice, or a related field, along with four years of relevant experience in social services or juvenile agencies, including one year in a supervisory role.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Texas Driver's License required. Certification as a Juvenile Probation Officer and Juvenile Supervision Officer or eligibility for certification within six months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Licensure as a Social Worker, Professional Counselor, or Marriage and Family Therapist. A Master's degree in a relevant field is also preferred.

- Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Capacity to work in high-stress environments while maintaining professionalism.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry items, visual acuity, and manual dexterity necessary for office tasks. The role may involve exposure to challenging behaviors and environments.
