POSITION SUMMARY:


Develop, advise, and support Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives and protocols while collaborating with personnel across various manufacturing sectors of Textron Aviation aircraft.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Formulate and assist in the execution of overarching safety and environmental policies and procedures in alignment with corporate guidelines and local, state, and federal EPA and OSHA regulations.

2. Participate in Textron Corporate/Textron Aviation EHS meetings and seminars to remain informed about policies and procedures, relaying this information to management.

3. Investigate and propose solutions for safety enhancements and challenges related to environmental and health and safety matters.

4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement EHS practices throughout the organization, fostering a positive safety culture.

5. Address EHS concerns raised by management, supervisors, and employees, offering viable solutions grounded in best practices.

6. Assist in incident investigations regarding injuries or illnesses, providing recommendations to avert future occurrences through root cause analysis.

7. Understand basic Ergonomic principles and lead preliminary ergonomic injury investigations, conducting ergonomic assessments by evaluating employee tasks and associated risks.

8. Deliver constructive coaching to employees, including the development and facilitation of effective safety training sessions.

9. Provide expert knowledge and support on Environmental, Health, and Safety issues.

10. Engage in community or industry EHS groups and initiatives.

11. Perform additional related duties as assigned by the supervisor.


ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH TEXTRON/OSHA/EPA/DOT POLICIES:

• Interact professionally and courteously with regulatory agencies.

• Oversee Industrial Hygiene programs.

• Guide and communicate with external contractor activities.

• Assist Textron Aviation in adhering to federal, state, and local environmental legislation.

• Maintain all EHS-related permits.

• Draft environmental reports concerning water, air, and hazardous waste.

• Coordinate the shipment of hazardous wastes in accordance with legal standards.

• Input injury data into the corporate database.

• Participate in the research, development, and presentation of various training programs.

• Contribute to the creation and compilation of training manuals and other instructional materials, procuring equipment, training videos, and additional resources for educational purposes.


EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:


Bachelor's Degree required in:

• Environmental Health and Safety

• Health Services Management

• Medical Administration

• Other related fields


Relevant experience may include:

• Environmental Compliance

• Safety and Health Management

• Engineering

• Workers Compensation Management and Leadership


QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Quick to grasp new concepts when faced with unfamiliar tasks.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles is preferred.

• Proficient in computer applications.

• Basic knowledge of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
