Job Summary

As a Principal Automation Systems Engineer at Flexan, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of automation solutions to improve product, process, and equipment performance. You will provide technical leadership and expertise to drive innovation and continuous improvement in automation, semi-automation, fixtures, and nests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of designers, engineers, and technicians to achieve industrialization objectives
• Provide hands-on leadership and build technical competency
• Work closely with NPD/NPI teams and plant operations to turn equipment and process improvement ideas into reality
• Develop equipment specifications that address the needs of the organization and process
• Build relationships with equipment suppliers, automation suppliers, integrators, and fabricators
• Lead project teams to create and deliver machine specification and troubleshooting documents
• Foster and drive equipment standardization across plants and process areas
• Responsible for setting technical direction, including vendor selection, and managing project forecast and spend
• Provide hands-on leadership for design, installation, and debug of equipment required for next-generation manufacturing

Requirements:

• Experience working in Medical Device Manufacturing industry preferred
• Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM field, plus a minimum of 12 years related experience
• Proven ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Demonstrated time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 application and advanced knowledge of CAD & 3D modeling software
• Demonstrated strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate well with peers and cross-functional teams and external customers

Physical Demands:

Occasional lifting to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

20% travel may be required
